Twelve Sex Offenders Arrested Along the American River Parkway

A dozen sex offenders were taken into custody last weekend after law enforcement made a sweep of the American River Parkway. During a three day operation, Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies talked to 284 people, and arrested 28. Deputy Tony Turnbull says of those arrests, 12 were sex offenders. Full Article

Why were they picked up in the first place? For being homeless because nobody will rent to them? If this is the case this is profiling, among other things, like violation of ex post facto laws. It doesn’t mention any kind of crimes associated with their arrests; why? This is BS; the article focuses on the victims of the sex offender industry and is completely silent on who the other arrestees were. If they were out of compliance it is probably because the had no way of getting to the little house of horrors to register.

Well, this is certainly a disturbing article. From what I can see, it appears many registered offenders are now homeless and probably jobless due to the current laws. Yet, we hear rhetoric that the citizen might be lying about being a transient? After reading the article, it also sounds like the police department wants to convey they are doing their job and possibly get overtime with their recent focus on the shoreline. Leave the people alone/or give them a place to live.

They are not on Megan’s law website because they have NO address. They don’t want to be transients, but they are because nobody rents to them!! What is wrong with people? Give them a break! If they would have a place to live, they would register it, and it would be listed on the outdated and faulty website. People can’t have it both ways. Either they have a place to list or they are homeless. End of story.
